Dr. Alisha Amlani (BDS, CAGS) completed advanced prosthodontic training at Boston University and teaches at the University of Alberta. Getting Comfortable With Your New Denture

Most patients settle in within a couple of weeks. Chewing evenly on both sides and being mindful of small, chewy foods early on helps while you adjust. Clean the denture daily, keep the implants and gums clean around the attachments, and come in for professional care every three to four months. Cared for this way, the denture itself often lasts seven to ten years, while the implants can last a lifetime with good hygiene.
